The final of the The Bugle’s Annual Charity Cricket Tournament was finally played out on Tuesday evening with the sun finally making an appearance as the teams from Ye Olde Whyte Harte and the King & Queen limbered up at the cricket ground at Aerostructures, Hamble.

Ye Olde Whyte Harte were first to bat and they knocked up a great score of 80 runs for 5 wickets. Team supporters were out in force cheering on their teams as the King & Queen went in to bat. They rallied well and went into the last over with 71 runs for 4 wickets – only 10 runs needed for victory – however despite the best efforts of barman Rich they ended on 78 runs after the 10 overs.

Landlord of Ye Olde Whyte Harte, Stewart, welcomed his team in from the field with a rousing cheer and the Trophy Tankard full of beer for his thirsty team!

The umpires, David Wybourne and Tim LeRoy from Cricket Telecom, the tournament sponsors, thanked everyone for supporting this great charity event which has raised over £5,700 since its inception in 2005.
