Sailing comes to BBC's Top Gear!
Monday, 08 May 2006
On a calm, sunny but cold day in March the BBC’s Top Gear team arrived in Hamble to film a piece for a programme coming out in the summer. Whilst Jeremy Clarkson got to cruise about in a Cougar Marine speedboat with World Powerboat Champion Steve Curtis, James May took to the helm of a single handed Foxer dinghy and showed off his sailing skills. The BBC kindly donated £200 to the John Merricks Sailing Trust for arranging the loan of a dinghy for the filming.
